Stride & Gait Analysis

On May 1st 2014 at Performance Sports and Wellness on Cherry Hill Road there will be a free stride and gait analysis. Using slow motion video analysis with Dr. Ness runners can learn if they have biomechanical flaws in their running form. Using Harris Mat foot imprinting with Rob Sobel, C.Ped runners can learn whether they have a neutral foot, a pronated foot, or supinated foot. Knowing the type of foot you have is important in choosing the type of shoe you run in. Rock and Snow will be there with the latest running shoes that they carry to try on and purchase.

After our analysis runners will learn the proper running shoe for their foot, and if they have any biomechanical flaws in their stride that could lead to an injury or be causing any of the following common running injuries; Achilles pain, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, calf pain, hamstring strains, knee pain, patella femoral tracking problems, hip pain, ITB syndrome, and back pain.

Our free Stride/Gait analysis can be used to help athletes run more efficiently and to prevent an injury before it happens.

Bill Weinstein lecture on Dry Needling this Monday December 9th

Bill Weinstein, L.Ac. will be speaking at the Saugerties Public Library this coming Monday, December 9, from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Acupuncture, including a recent development commonly referred to “dry needling,” grows from an ancient lineage with branches in many cultures. Several thousand years of recorded practice demonstrate its efficacy and its safety. How does it work? A modern understanding of the nervous system has begun to elucidate the actual mechanisms underlying acupuncture’s action. “A Modern View of Acupuncture” will provide an overview of the history, practice, and physiology of acupuncture and its latter-day descendent, dry needling.
